Granvia Camper

Postby DarthViking » 24 Aug 2009, 22:43

We took the Granvia camping in the Peak District last week end.

We managed to get 23MPG. Not too bad for a 2.7 Petrol with those hills and all our gear.

North Devon for the bank holiday :D

I see you have a cycle rack. Where did you get it? I have asked Fiammia and they say they don't do one for the Granvia.

Thanks, Andy

Hi Andy,

It's a Fiammia WV T4 unit.

It was fitted by the guy who did the conversion http://www.westwardleisure.co.uk

I'm not sure if it has been modified (if it has, he has done a very good job) to fit, but you do lose the mirror are the back.

Hi Dave
I have the same Bike VW rack and just fitted a Fiamma 320 box to it.
I also have the same brackets connecting the awning but I am having problems with it cracking the paint and need to remove the iside lining to put a bigger back-plate on, any ideas on how please?
Eddie

PS, the rack and awning was already fitted when we bought it and think the conversion was Elise/Elisa? and done in Worksop, Notts?

Hi Eddie,

The whole lot was fitted by Westward conversions before we got the van.

I'll have a look to see if I can find out how the brackets are fitted this weekend.

I will try and post a photo of the one's I have and see if they match.
Was wondering if you have a similar problem to mine?

Hi Dave

I just found out today from Hillside Leisure at Derby ( good folks I bought it from ) that the roof fitting/adaptor is no other than the ones fitted by Wellhouse Leisure and is not one from Fiamma.
He showed me how to take the inside lining out to get to the bolts and also told me how to drill out the fitting bolts to allow me to put some proper support behind the fixings to stop the roof cracking further.
It's only been on a year and I think it's a poor job to fit something like that without some kind of proper support.

The van is in for repairs, the motor on the drivers seat (front and back adjustment) doesnt work and are fitting me a manual seat free of charge :D and you can't ask for anything better than that!

Regards

Eddie
